She's after me. God, I can hardly breathe and my legs feel like iron. I hate this body, hate what I've become and I want my powers back.

Of course, they're what got me into this mess in the first place. I can't do anything right. It's all Buffy's fault.

I stop, panting heavily and listening for any sound of her. She's going to kill me. She's going to rip me limb for limb and have me for dinner and that's going to be the end of me. No more trying to understand this new existance that's been forced on me. No more wishing I had the powers I foolishly squandered.

Damn it. She's almost found me again. I run from my spot, looking for somewhere, anywhere to hide. I'm so sick of being hunted. I've been on the move for over a day now, wondering when exactly she went nuts.

She was good before. I actually kind of liked her. I knew this was what she was- a hunter and a killer, at the base, but I thought we had a rapport. Dare I say a friendship even?

But now; she's lost it. Something's gone wrong and I am now her enemy. God, I wish I had my powers.

I stop again, hiding in the shadows, trying to hold my breath so she can't hear me. I don't want to die. Not like this. There's so much I want to do. Get married. Have kids. Anything but die right now.

I move slowly from my hiding spot and there she is- and she's spotted me. Damnit!

I run as fast as I can the other way, but I can hear her behind me, following me like she's possessed.

I want to scream, to cry out, but I can't speak. I settle for little whimpering noises and hope she takes pity on me.

I look around and find I'm cornered. There's no way around it. She is going to kill me. This is the end. Goodbye big world.

"What are you doing?" I hear someone say, and then there she is. Willow. My savior.

She looks down at me and frowns. "How did you get out of your cage? Miss Kitty was right about to have you for dinner," she says, picking me up and walking me across the room. "All safe now," she says, and as I'm placed on the little blanket she made for me, I smile. Well, as much as a rat can.

She closes the cage and turns around, staring at my hunter. "Bad Miss Kitty," she says, frowning. "You hungry? Let's go get you some cat food."

The End.
